The Stronger Roots Conference looked back at the first run of the program

The Green Business

90 people representing civil society organizations from Central Europe met in the second week of May in Prague at the final Stronger Roots conference. Together, they looked back at the first run of the innovative program, which aims to increase the resilience of civil society organizations and their networks and strengthen their social capital.

Thanks to the Stronger Roots program, 35 civil society organizations managed to strengthen their social ties (community of supporters, donors, volunteers) and 9 networks of civil society organizations established new or strengthened existing partnerships with ideologically or geographically divergent groups or stakeholders.

The conference was held on May 11-13, 2022 at the Mama Shelter Hotel. Participants learned about the methodology, impact and case studies of the Stronger Roots program. Space was also given to the reflection of current situation in Central and Eastern Europe, social trends, new challenges and opportunities for the CSOs.

At the conference, our director Petr Lebeda and program manager Jitka Hausenblasová presented the methodology and practice of transversal collaboration, which are also summarised in new publications:

The Stronger Roots program was implemented in the Czech Republic, Slovakia and Hungary by the Open Society Fund Prague, the NIOK Foundation, Open Society Foundation Bratislava and Glopolis.
